Pesan Terakhir Amy Winehouse - “Aku sayang ibu”, pesan terakhir ini diungkapkan Amy Winehouse kepada ibunya pada sebuah kesempatan makan siang hanya selang sehari sebelum penyanyi dari Inggris ini ditemukan sudah tidak bernyawa lagi di kediamannya akhir pekan lalu karena diduga meneguk minuman beralkohol secara berlebihan.

Amy Winehouse telah berulangkali mencoba keluar dari ketergantungan terhadap minuman beralkohol, terutama Vodka, serta sejumlah obat bius kendati terus-menerus gagal. Penyanyi yang telah menjadi jutawan ini ditemukan tewas oleh seorang pengawal di kediamannya di London Utara, Inggris, Sabtu (23/7/2011).

Winehouse diyakini terguncang dengan kenyataan harus berpisah dengan kekasihnya yang tak lain adalah sutradara, Reg Traviss. Pihak keluarga Winehouse dijadwalkan menerima hasil visum penyanyi yang tutup usia pada umur 27 tahun itu hari ini sebelum mengantarkannya ke tempat peristirahatan terakhir.

Amy diduga memakai sejumlah obat bius pada malam menjelang hari kematiannya. Namun, hasil awal investigasi kepolisian tidak menemukan adanya obat bius yang ditemukan di kediaman Winehouse yang bernilai hingga Rp 34 miliar. Sumber kepolisian Inggris menyebutkan, indikasi peraih 5 Grammy Awards ini tewas akibat mengonsumsi minuman beralkohol secara berlebihan.

Dalam penjelasan kepada The Sun, Amy, seperti dituturkan oleh juru bicaranya, Chris Goodman, berada di dalam kediamannya sendirian menjelang kematian menjemputnya atau tidak dalam pengawasan langsung dari pengawalnya yang berada di ruangan terpisah. Amy hanya berpesan ke pengawal, Andrew Morris, yang telah mengabdi kepadanya selama beberapa tahun itu, akan beristirahat sebentar.

Amy ditemukan sudah tidak bernapas lagi saat Andrew Morris berusaha membangunkannya. Diduga Amy Winehouse meninggal dunia 6 jam sebelum dihampiri oleh Morris.

“Ia (Morris) segera menelepon pelayanan medis darurat. Ia benar-benar shock. Dalam hal ini tidak ada yang tahu bagaimana ia (Amy) meninggal dunia. Ia menutup mata untuk terakhir kalinya di pembaringan tanpa ditemani oleh siapa pun,” ujar Chris Goodman.

We regret to report that Ryan Dunn, of the hit MTV show Jackass, was killed in a tragic car accident early this morning. The accident took place in Chester County, Pennsylvania around 2:30 am. Reports say that Dunn’s 2007 Porsche left the roadway and burst into flames instantly killing Dunn and the other occupant.

Updates on the story report that speed may have been a possible factor. Also, hours before the crash Dunn had uploaded a picture to his twitter page showing him drinking with other friends. MTV, who’s been the sponsor behind almost every show he’s been on, had this to say…

“Dunn kicked off his career doing crazy stunts and skateboard tricks in a series of online videos, which eventually led to his part in MTV’s ‘Jackass’ in 2000. The daredevil was a key member of the crew, appearing in ‘Jackass’ spin-offs like ‘Viva La Bam’ and ‘Bam’s Unholy Union,’ as Bam’s sidekick and often acting as the voice of reason within the zany crew. … He even took a stab at Hollywood, with a role in non-’Jackass’ projects like the Jessica Simpson flick ‘Blonde Ambition’ and on the NBC procedural staple ‘Law & Order: SVU.’”

Apple's stock market struggles could signal distress for the tech sector.

As expected, Apple shares fell on Wall Street this morning. We reported yesterday that Apple’s market performance in Germany fell 6.4 percent yesterday, and after the Monday holiday, US shares are doing the same. According to The Guardian, Apple shares fell 4.1 percent at the market’s open today, and now the AFP reports they have leveled off at a 2.92 percent fall.

CEO Steve Jobs’ health has long been linked to his company’s stock value, and his most recent medical leave seems to be no exception. Despite Jobs’ auspicious absence, Apple’s shares fell modestly compared to how they performed overseas yesterday. The company is due to announce its quarter earnings tonight, and investors are likely holding out for the notice. Apple’s holiday sales were reportedly impressive, and it could be enough to stop some selling their stock quite yet.

Jobs’ health could affect more than just his own company. Apple is a powerful force in the tech sector, and its shift could directly play into how the entire industry performs on Wall Street. “The market’s reaction to Steve Jobs’ surprise medical leave from Apple…will underscore the importance of the tech sector on the S&P 500 [Standard & Poor’s 500-stock index]…What happens next to Apple will therefore dominate what happens in the sector and the S&P as well,” analyst Brian McCormick told The Guardian.
